How to play 28 in five steps
- Deal four cards each from a 32-card pack (7 to Ace). Order in each suit: J, 9, A, 10, K, Q, 8, 7.
- Bid from 14 to 28. To bid over your own partner you need 20 (Honours).
- Hide the trump and deal four more cards each. Then a second round lets anyone raise to 24 or more and set a new trump.
- Play eight rounds. Follow suit; if you can't, ask for the trump and cut, or throw a card.
- Score: bids up to 19 score +1 / −2, 20–24 score +2 / −3, 25 and up score +3 / −4. Double and redouble multiply it.
