In Kerala, ചീട്ടുകളി (cheettukali, also written cheettu kali or chettukali) means an evening around a mat, a pack of cards and a lot of arguing about who should have called. The trump games in this family, 28, 29, the six-player 40 and 56, are played at homes, clubs and festival nights, and in Malayali camps across the Gulf.
They share the same idea: the Jack (ഗുലാൻ) and the 9 are the top cards, teams bid for points, and the winning bidder picks the thuruppu, the trump. Cheettukali brings these games to your phone with the rules people actually play, smart computer partners, and no money involved. New to the words? See the card game terms glossary.
