Crazy Eights is one of the easiest card games to learn and one of the hardest to put down. Match the top card by suit or rank, play an 8 whenever you are stuck, and be the first to empty your hand. It is the family ancestor of Uno and the same idea sits behind the Indian game Mau Mau. Play it here free against 1 to 4 computer players.

Cards left in hand count against you: each 8 is 50, face cards and 10s are 10, Aces are 1 and the rest are face value. The lowest total wins when somebody reaches 50, 100 or 150 points. Keep an 8 for the end rather than spending it early, dump high cards first, and when you do play an 8 call the suit you hold most of.
Uno is a commercial descendant of Crazy Eights. The matching idea is the same, but Uno has special action cards and Crazy Eights uses a normal 52-card pack where only the 8s are wild.
Two to seven with one pack in real life. Cheettukali supports 2 to 5 players, with the computer playing the other seats.
Yes. An 8 is always legal, whatever the top card is. You then choose which suit is in play.
The discard pile (except the top card) is reshuffled into a new draw pile. If nobody can play at all, the round is blocked and the lowest hand wins.
