How to play Sudoku in four steps
- Look for the easy cells. Find a row, column or box that already has many numbers. The missing digits can often go in only one place.
- Tap a cell, then a number. The row, column and same numbers light up so you can see what is already used.
- Use notes for harder cells. Turn Notes on and tap several digits to pencil in the candidates for a cell. When you place a digit, it is crossed off from the notes of its row, column and box.
- Finish the grid. When every cell is right, the timer stops and your time is saved as a personal best for that level.
Difficulty levels
Easy gives about 40 clues and can be solved by scanning for cells with a single possible digit. Medium has about 32 clues and needs notes. Hard has about 26 clues and often needs techniques such as pairs and pointing pairs. Every puzzle on Cheettukali has exactly one solution.

What does the Hint button do?
It fills the selected cell with the correct number, or picks a wrong or empty cell if none is selected. Hints are counted so you can try to finish without them.
Do I need maths to play Sudoku?
No. Sudoku uses numbers only as symbols. You never add anything up; it is a puzzle of logic and elimination.
