Call Break is the trick-taking card game everyone in Nepal, Bangladesh and much of North and East India seems to know, and a favourite for long train journeys and hostel nights. Each of four players plays alone, spades are always trump, and before each round you call how many tricks you will win. Win at least that many and you score; fall short and you lose your call. Here you can play Call Break free in your browser against three computer players.
How to play Call Break in five steps
- Get 13 cards. The whole pack is dealt to four players. Spades (♠) are always trump.
- Make your call. Count your sure tricks (Aces, high spades, short suits you can trump) and call a number from 1 to 13.
- Follow suit and go higher. You must follow the suit led, and you must play a higher card than the best one on the table if you have it.
- Trump when you can't follow. With no card of the suit led you must play a spade (higher than any spade already played, if you can). The highest spade, or else the highest card of the suit led, wins the trick.
- Score the round. Made your call: + your call, plus 0.1 for each extra trick. Missed: − your call. After 5 rounds the highest total wins.

Is this Call Break free?

Is Call Break the same as Spades?
They are close cousins: both use spades as trump and a bid for tricks. In Call Break everyone plays alone and you must beat the best card if you can; in Spades two teams play and there are nil bids and bags.
What is a good call in Call Break?
Count Aces as about one trick each, Kings with one or two small cards as almost one, every spade beyond three as a trick, and add some for short suits you can trump. Most hands are worth 2 to 4.
Can I play Call Break offline?
