Memory Match (also called Pairs, Concentration or Pelmanism) is the classic card matching game. All the cards lie face down. You turn over two at a time, trying to find pairs, and the cards turn back if they do not match, so you have to remember where everything is. It is a quick, relaxing game for children and a good brain workout for adults.

Work through the cards in a fixed order at the start, so you build a map in your head. Look at the position of each card for a moment longer than feels necessary. When you flip a card you have already seen, go for its twin straight away. Pairing by colour makes the game a bit trickier than matching only by rank, because there are two possible partners for each card.
Two cards with the same rank and the same colour, such as the 9 of hearts and the 9 of diamonds.
