In team games, half the skill is playing for your partner, without any table talk.

Don't overtake a winner

If your partner's card is already winning and won't be beaten, play low. Overtaking wastes your high card.

Feed points

In point games (28, 29, 304, 56, 40), drop point cards on tricks your partner is winning. In Mendikot, drop your ten.

Lead their void

If your partner has shown they're out of a suit, lead it so they can trump.

Return their suit

When your partner leads a suit, they often want it back. Lead it again when you win a trick.

Bidding is a signal

In 40, calling exactly 21 tells partners you hold three Jacks. In Spades, a big bid says "I've got this". Listen.

Fair play

Signals must come from the cards and bids themselves, never from words, faces or secret codes. That's what makes it a game.

FAQ

Can partners talk in 28 or Spades?

No. Partners help each other only through the cards and bids they play.
