Mendikot Strategy: How to Catch the Tens
In Mendikot only four cards really matter: the tens. Everything you do is about getting them into your team's tricks.

1. Don't lead a ten early
A ten loses to J, Q, K and A. Leading it is usually a gift to the other team, unless the higher cards of that suit are already gone.
2. Feed your partner
If your partner is clearly winning a trick (with an Ace, or a trump that can't be beaten), drop your ten of that suit on it. That's how most tens are caught.
3. Keep tens away from the opponents
When an opponent is winning, play a low card, never your ten, unless you're forced.
4. Choose the trump when you cut first
In cut hukum, the first card played by someone who can't follow suit sets the trump. If that's you, cut with a card from your strongest, longest suit: you've just made it trump.
5. Count
Keep track of which tens have fallen and who has them. At 2–2, the hand goes to the team with more tricks, so every trick matters.
6. Aces are guards
An Ace in a suit protects your ten of that suit: once the Ace wins a trick, your ten can follow safely later.
