What Is the 304 Card Game?
304 takes everything you know about 28 and multiplies the numbers. Same four players, same 32 cards, same hidden trump, but every Jack is worth 30.

Where it's played
304 is especially loved in Sri Lanka (Jaffna in particular), Tamil Nadu and among Tamil families abroad, and it is played in parts of Kerala too. Many players learned 28 or 304 first and switch easily between them.
The points
| Card | J | 9 | A | 10 | K | Q | 8, 7 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Points | 30 | 20 | 11 | 10 | 3 | 2 | 0 |
Each suit holds 76 points; four suits make 304.
How a hand goes
- Four cards each. Bidding in tens from 160 (on Cheettukali; some tables start at 150 or 170).
- The winner hides a trump card face down.
- Four more cards each; a second round lets anyone raise to 250+.
- Eight rounds. The bidders need their bid in points.
Why people love it
The bigger numbers make bidding feel finer: you're not choosing between 18 and 19 but between 180, 190 and 200. And because the Ace (11) and 10 (10) are nearly equal, every round of a suit is a fight.

FAQ
Why is it called 304?
Because the card points in the pack add up to 304.
Is 304 harder than 28?
Not really. If you know 28, you only need to learn the new point values and bid numbers.
