Bluff Card Game Tips
Bluff is half card counting, half poker face. Here's how to get better at both halves.

Tell the truth more than you think
Bluffing every turn gets you caught. When you have the right cards, play them honestly; your occasional lie becomes far more believable.
Bluff small
Slipping one wrong card in among true ones ("three Fives" with two real Fives) is much safer than claiming three you don't have.
Bluff when the pile is small
Getting caught early costs a few cards. Getting caught on a 20-card pile can lose the game.
Count the ranks
There are only four of each rank. If you hold two Kings and someone claims three, someone is lying. Cheettukali's computer players do exactly this count.
Watch who picks up
When a bluff is revealed, everyone sees those cards go into someone's hand. Remember: if Rahul just picked up two Queens, his "two Queens" later might be true.
Be careful calling on the last card
When someone plays their last card, you almost have to call. But if your call is wrong, you take the whole pile.

FAQ
How do you win at Bluff?
Mix honest plays with small, well-timed bluffs, count the ranks to catch others, and avoid risky bluffs on big piles.
When should I call bluff?
When the count doesn't add up (you hold enough of that rank that the claim is impossible or unlikely), or when someone is about to go out.
